What research could be done if the data was available?

There are considerable risks in making personal genome data public with your identity. Is there a proposal to hide identities?

Would the data be useful w/o longitudinal health information to correlate with it?

Would genealogical ties also become important?

Other than generally sponsoring "the good of mankind", would there be any likely benefit directly back to contributors?
